Final colour selection should be confirmed using an approved physical sample wherever possible.
Digital colours displayed on the website are only a guide and may vary because of:
• Screen settings
• Lighting
• Surface texture
• Number of coats
• Product format
• Application method
• Surrounding colours
Special colours may be available subject to minimum quantities and manufacturing requirements.
SURFACE ASSESSMENT
Before application, assess the court for:
• Surface stability
• Structural cracking
• Ponding or drainage defects
• Loose or failed coatings
• Surface contamination
• Uneven texture
• Existing repairs
• Previous coating compatibility
• General wear and deterioration
Structural movement, drainage problems and unstable coatings must be corrected before colour coating
begins.

Before applying Colour Concentrate:
• Remove dust, dirt, grease, mould and surface contamination.
• Remove loose, flaking or poorly adhering coatings.
• Repair suitable cracks and damaged areas.
• Correct shallow depressions where required.
• Apply Black Acrylic Resurfacer where specified.
• Allow repairs and resurfacing layers to dry sufficiently.
• Ensure the surface is clean, dry and stable.
• Confirm compatibility with any existing coating system.
• Prime where required by the selected specification.
Correct preparation is essential to colour consistency and long-term performance.
MIXING
Mixing requirements depend on the product format supplied.
Concentrate
Must be prepared using the approved quantities of silica aggregate and water.
Concentrate with Sand
Contains the specified aggregate but may require the approved addition of water.
Ready to Use
Factory-prepared for application, subject to thorough stirring and any instructions stated in the Technical
Data Sheet.
Do not apply one general mixing instruction to all three formats.
APPLICATION
Colour Concentrate is generally applied using professional sports-surface equipment, including a suitable
rubber squeegee.
Apply evenly in accordance with the approved court-system specification.
Maintain a wet edge and avoid:
• Uneven application
• Excessive material build-up
• Heavy squeegee lines
• Application over damp surfaces
• Applying in unsuitable weather
• Applying following coats before sufficient drying
• Mixing material from different batches without proper planning
Larger project quantities should, where practical, be planned from the same production batch to support
colour consistency.
NUMBER OF COATS
The required number of coats will depend on:
• Product format
• Existing surface colour
• Selected final colour
• Surface condition
• System specification
• Required opacity
• Contractor application method
The applicable Technical Data Sheet and project specification must be followed.
COVERAGE
Coverage differs according to:
• Product format
• Surface profile
• Surface porosity
• Aggregate content
• Water addition
• Application thickness
• Existing surface condition
• Contractor technique
Do not publish one universal coverage figure for all formats until each version has been technically
confirmed.
Final project quantities must be calculated using the applicable technical information.
AVAILABLE PACK SIZE
• 20 L
The actual filled weight may differ according to the selected product format.
DRYING AND RECOATING
Drying time may vary according to:
• Temperature
• Humidity
• Air movement
• Surface temperature
• Applied thickness
• Product format
• Site conditions
Allow each coat to dry sufficiently before applying subsequent layers or line markings.
Refer to the latest Technical Data Sheet and sports-system guide.
IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS
• Do not apply to dirty, damp, unstable or contaminated surfaces.
• Do not apply over loose or poorly adhering existing coatings.
• Do not use colour coating to correct structural cracks, drainage defects or major surface irregularities.
• Do not apply during rain or when rain is expected before sufficient drying.
• Mixing, dilution and coverage differ between product formats.
• Use only the instructions applicable to the format marked on the pail.
• Final colour may vary according to surface, batch, application and site conditions.
• Plan larger projects carefully to support colour consistency.
• Ensure all preparation and resurfacing layers are compatible and sufficiently dry.
• Colour Concentrate must be used as part of a complete UltraFlex Sports Coatings system.
