Professional Sports-Surface Repair Solutions
For Cracks, Depressions and Localised Court Repairs
UltraFlex Fill & Patch provides specialised acrylic repair products for preparing damaged sports-court
surfaces before resurfacing and colour coating.
The range includes two selectable product options for different repair requirements:
• Acrylic Patch Binder
• Polymeric Sand Crack Filler
Correct assessment and repair are essential before applying the remaining UltraFlex Sports Coatings
system.
PRODUCT OPTIONS
ACRYLIC PATCH BINDER
A water-based acrylic binder intended for use in compatible patching and repair mixes.
It is suitable for preparing repair compounds used to correct shallow depressions, localised surface damage
and minor irregularities on correctly prepared court surfaces.
POLYMERIC SAND CRACK FILLER
A polymer-modified crack-filling product developed for suitable non-structural cracks and localised surface
repairs.
The selected product option will be clearly marked on the pail.
Application, mixing and repair requirements differ between the two options. Always follow the technical
information applicable to the exact product supplied.

Depending on the selected Fill & Patch option, the range may be used for:
• Filling suitable non-structural cracks
• Repairing shallow depressions
• Correcting localised surface damage
• Feathering repaired edges
• Filling minor voids and imperfections
• Preparing repaired areas before resurfacing
• Improving surface uniformity
• Repairing suitable worn or damaged sections
Fill & Patch products are not intended to correct structural movement, unstable substrates or major drainage
defects.
SELECTING THE CORRECT OPTION
Acrylic Patch Binder
Typically selected where the contractor needs to prepare a compatible acrylic patching mix for:
• Shallow depressions
• Localised surface levelling
• Damaged areas
• Minor voids
• Feather-edge repairs
Polymeric Sand Crack Filler
Typically selected for:
• Suitable non-moving cracks
• Localised narrow repairs
• Minor surface openings
• Repairs before resurfacing and colour coating
The type, width, depth and movement of the defect must be assessed before selecting the repair method.
COURT ASSESSMENT
Before repair work begins, inspect the court for:
• Structural cracks
• Moving cracks
• Root damage
• Substrate settlement
• Ponding water
• Drainage defects
• Delamination
• Failed previous repairs
• Loose or unstable coatings
• Asphalt deterioration
• Concrete movement
• Moisture beneath the coating system
Cracks that continue to move may reappear through a coating system.
Structural movement, drainage failures and unstable substrates may require specialist repairs outside the
scope of Fill & Patch.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Before applying a Fill & Patch product:
• Remove dust, dirt, grease, mould and contamination.
• Remove loose, crumbling or unstable material.
• Open and prepare suitable cracks where required.
• Remove failed repair material.
• Ensure repair edges are sound.
• Mechanically prepare smooth surfaces where necessary.
• Remove standing water.
• Ensure the area is clean and suitably dry.
• Confirm that the substrate is stable.
• Prime where required by the selected repair system.
Correct preparation is essential to adhesion and long-term repair performance.
MIXING
Mixing requirements depend on the product option and intended repair.
Acrylic Patch Binder
May require incorporation with approved aggregate, filler or cementitious components according to the repair
specification.
Polymeric Sand Crack Filler
Must be prepared or stirred according to its approved product instructions before application.
Do not use one general mixing ratio for both product options.
Final ratios and component requirements must follow the applicable Technical Data Sheet or repair guide.
APPLICATION
Application methods may include:
• Trowel
• Putty knife
• Scraper
• Squeegee
• Suitable repair tools
Apply the repair product firmly into the prepared defect.
Compact and finish the material to match the surrounding court profile as closely as possible.
Avoid:
• Applying over loose material
• Filling moving structural cracks as though they are static
• Excessive repair thickness in one application
• Leaving raised edges
• Applying over wet or contaminated surfaces
• Coating over repairs before sufficient curing or drying
More than one application may be required for deeper repairs.
DRYING AND CURING
Drying and curing depend on:
• Product option
• Repair depth
• Temperature
• Humidity
• Air movement
• Surface temperature
• Mix composition
• Site conditions
Allow repairs to dry and cure sufficiently before applying Black Acrylic Resurfacer or Colour Concentrate.
Premature coating may affect adhesion and repair stability.
COVERAGE
Fill & Patch does not have one universal spread rate.
Product consumption depends on:
• Crack width and depth
• Repair area
• Surface profile
• Patch thickness
• Product option
• Mix design
• Material loss during application
Project quantities should be calculated from the number and dimensions of the repairs.
AVAILABLE PACK SIZE
• 20 L
The pail must be marked to indicate whether it contains:
• Acrylic Patch Binder
• Polymeric Sand Crack Filler
IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS
• Do not use Fill & Patch as a structural repair product.
• Do not assume that every crack can be permanently repaired with a coating product.
• Moving cracks may reappear.
• Do not apply over dirty, wet, contaminated or unstable surfaces.
• Do not repair active drainage or substrate failures without correcting the cause.
• Do not use one mixing ratio for both product options.
• Do not apply subsequent coatings before the repair has dried or cured sufficiently.
• Deep defects may require several applications or an alternative repair system.
• Trial repairs may be required where the substrate or existing coating is unfamiliar.
• Fill & Patch must be used as part of a compatible UltraFlex Sports Coatings system.
