LINE PRIME
A preparatory product used beneath compatible UltraFlex line paints to support adhesion and help reduce
paint bleed beneath masking tape.

WHITE LINE PAINT
A professional acrylic line-marking coating used for clear white sports-court markings.

YELLOW LINE PAINT
A professional acrylic line-marking coating used where yellow markings are required for selected sports or
multi-purpose court layouts.
The applicable option will be clearly marked on the product pail.

The court coating beneath the markings must be sound, clean, dry and sufficiently cured.

• Yellow
The required colour will depend on the sport, court layout and project specification.
Where several sports share one court, the marking colours should be planned carefully to maintain clear
distinction between layouts.

LINE PRIME
Line Prime forms the preparatory stage of the UltraFlex line-marking system.
It is used within the masked line area before the application of White or Yellow Line Paint.
Correct use may help:
• Improve line-paint adhesion
• Seal the edges of masking tape
• Reduce paint bleed
• Produce sharper line edges
• Improve the uniformity of the finished marking
Line Prime must be applied according to the approved system instructions.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Before applying Prime & Line products:
• Ensure the final sports-surface colour coating has dried and cured sufficiently.
• Remove dust, dirt and surface contamination.
• Confirm that the coating beneath the lines is sound and firmly adhered.
• Ensure the surface is dry.
• Measure and mark the court layout accurately.
• Use suitable professional masking tape.
• Press masking edges down firmly.
• Confirm all measurements before applying product.
• Apply Line Prime where specified.
• Do not mark over loose, damp or contaminated surfaces.
Incorrect measurements or poor masking may affect the appearance and accuracy of the completed court.

COURT LAYOUT AND MEASUREMENT
Court markings should be set out according to the applicable sporting dimensions and project requirements.
Before application, confirm:
• The sport or sports being marked
• Official court dimensions
• Line width
• Court orientation
• Shared or overlapping markings
• Required line colours
• Existing fixed structures
• Net-post and goal positions
• Clearance areas
The Paint Depot supplies the coating products but does not replace the need for accurate professional court
setting-out.

APPLICATION SEQUENCE
A typical Prime & Line system may include:
1. Allow the final colour coating to dry sufficiently.
2. Measure and set out the court markings.
3. Apply suitable masking tape.
4. Apply Line Prime within the masked area where specified.
5. Allow the primer to dry according to the technical instructions.
6. Apply White or Yellow Line Paint.
7. Apply additional coating where required by the specification.
8. Remove masking tape carefully at the appropriate stage.
9. Allow the markings to dry and cure before opening the court to use.
The exact sequence, number of coats and drying times must follow the applicable Technical Data Sheet and
system guide.

APPLICATION
Prime & Line products may be applied using:
• Brush
• Small roller
• Suitable professional line-marking equipment
Stir thoroughly before and during use.
Apply evenly within the marked area and avoid:
• Excessive film build
• Product running beneath masking tape
• Uneven line edges
• Application over damp surfaces
• Removing tape at the incorrect stage
• Opening the court before sufficient drying and curing

LINE WIDTH
Line width must comply with the applicable sport or project specification.
Contractors should confirm the required line width before setting out and masking the court.
Different sporting codes may require different dimensions and layouts.

COVERAGE
Prime & Line does not have one universal published spread rate for all three options.
Product consumption will depend on:
• Total line length
• Required line width
• Surface texture
• Number of coats
• Application method
• Product option
• Material loss during masking and application
• The number of sporting layouts on the court
Project quantities should be calculated from the total line area and the approved technical information for
each product.

AVAILABLE PACK SIZE
• 20 L
The pail will be marked to indicate whether it contains:
• Line Prime
• White Line Paint
• Yellow Line Paint
Smaller pack sizes may be considered later according to project demand.

DRYING AND RETURN TO SERVICE
Drying and curing times depend on:
• Product option
• Temperature
• Humidity
• Air movement
• Surface temperature
• Applied thickness
• Site conditions
The court must not be opened to play until the line-marking system has dried and cured sufficiently.

IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS
• Do not apply over dirty, damp, loose or contaminated coatings.
• Do not begin marking until the underlying colour coating has cured sufficiently.
• Do not rely on line paint to correct inaccurate measurements.
• Do not use unsuitable masking tape.
• Do not apply during rain or when rain is expected before sufficient drying.
• Do not open the court to use prematurely.
• Line Prime, White Line Paint and Yellow Line Paint have different functions and must be used
according to their applicable instructions.
• Multi-purpose layouts must be carefully planned to avoid confusing or overlapping markings.
• Final marking dimensions remain the responsibility of the installer.
• Prime & Line must be used as part of a compatible UltraFlex Sports Coatings system.
